Since the late 1990s, Silvia Rivas has explored the expressive possibilities of expanded cinema, pushing the boundaries of video as a medium and creating installations and immersive environments. Cronotopías is the first retrospective of the artist exhibited at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá (MAMBO). Derived from the ancient greek, words «chronos» (time) and «topos» (space), the term emphasizes the relationship between time and space, blurring the borders between them. The publication accompanies the exhibition as a notebook, blending process, records, and instructions for performative actions.
